About Me

Welcome!  My name is Amanda Moorman.  I will begin my tenth year of teaching elementary education in the fall of 2020.  During my teaching career, I have taught fifth, fourth, third, first and Kindergarten.  Currently, I am a K-1 Looping Teacher at Grenada Elementary School.  I graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  In May of 2020, I began working on my Master's Degree for Dyslexia Therapy at the University of Southern Mississippi.  After encountering students in grades three and above who could not read, I felt the urge to learn more about how and why this could be possible.  I've completed the Orton-Gillingham training and LETRS training, and these courses motivated me even more to pursue work with Dyslexia.  I should complete my Master's Degree for Dyslexia Therapy in July 2021.  I am excited to have the knowedge and experience to help children believe in themsleves and in their ability to read!  I am currently working with students as part of my practicum for Dyslexia Therapy.  I will continue working with students after school hours once the new school year begins.  Feel free to contact me about any openings that I may have!
